How Do I Take A Screenshot To Send To Support?

If you think a screenshot would help to show the problem or error message you are experiencing then please attach one when opening a ticket. Please keep the file to under 1MB. Supported file types include: GIF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, TXT, HTML and LOG.

How To Take A Screenshot 

Windows

Click on the window you want to take a screenshot of.

Hold down the Alt key on your keyboard and press the Print Screen key. This is usually located near to the Page Up and Page Down keys. It is sometimes labelled Prt Scr.

Open some image editing software. Paint is available in the Start menu under All Programs and then Accessories.

Choose the Paste option from the Edit menu or hold Ctrl on your keyboard and press the V key.

Choose the Save option from the File menu and remember to choose JPEG or PNG as the file type.

Alternatively, you can use the Snipping Tool.

The Snipping tool is available in the Start menu under All Programs and then Accessories.

If it is not there 

1. Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features 

2. Click Turn Windows features on/off in panel on left

3. Make sure Tablet PC components are checked

4. Now you will find the Snipping tool in Accessories

Use the Snipping tool to select part of your screen and generate a screenshot.

Mac

Either: 

1. Press the Command, Shift, and 4 keys at the same time.

2. You should now have a reticule for a cursor.

3. Drag a box around the content you want to take a screenshot of, then let go.

4. A new image file should appear on your desktop.

Or: 

1. Press the Command, Shift, and 4 keys at the same time.

2. Press the space bar on its own.

3. You should now have a camera for a cursor.

4. Click on the window you want to take a screenshot of.

5. A new image file should appear on your desktop.

Or: 

1. Press the Command and space keys at the same time.

2. Type "grab" and click on the application (press enter if it is already highlighted).

3. Click the Capture menu, select Selection or Window and follow the instructions.

4. Click File, Save then save the file.
